We will not be hosting Camp Marafiki Pamoja in August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each camp session, we provide lunch to about 100 campers and 20 adult volunteers each day. We plan to continue providing lunch in August despite not being physically present. The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the need of many of the students of Bright Star and with your support, our goal is to raise enough funds to be able to provide the entire school – not just our usual campers – with lunch for the month of August.
In addition to food, funds raised for “camp” this year will also be used to provide other basic necessities such as menstrual products, soap, tissues, and hand sanitizer as well as reusable face masks for each student and teacher.
