Our Programs

With a variety of community partnerships in Ngando, Nairobi, we support students, teachers, and volunteers at Bright Star Academy with programs that nourish both body and spirit – providing access to education, nutritious meals, and opportunities for growth and connection. Our work is grounded in community empowerment. By reducing hunger and supporting education and learning, we help children and families build the skills and confidence to strengthen their own communities through service to others. Marafiki Pamoja focuses its efforts through three core programs:

  1. Camp Marafiki Pamoja: a two-week summer camp held in August that provides approximately 100 children with a safe space for learning, fun, nutritious meals, and educational activities.
  2. Food Sponsorship Program: ensures every student at Bright Star Academy receives daily lunches, with various donation tiers to cover meals for a day, a month, or a full year.
  3. School Operations: provides essential support when camp is not running, covering vital needs like supplemental salaries for dedicated teachers and staff, clean water, rent, and school supplies to maintain the foundation of the Bright Star learning community.
