Bright Star is a resource for the community. Although primary education is free in Kenya, there are still many costs associated with sending a child to school. No student is ever turned away for inability to pay school fees or buy a uniform and other school supplies. Francis welcomes students who would otherwise be unable to attend school with open arms.
While education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, a hungry child simply cannot learn; malnutrition diminishes focus, attendance, and overall academic performance.
By sponsoring a student’s daily lunch, you are doing more than just providing a meal—you are eliminating a critical barrier to education, ensuring that students have the sustained energy and nutrition necessary to absorb their lessons, thrive in the classroom, and build a brighter future.
